Registration of Civil Status Records<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Italian citizens are required to register in the Italian civil status registers all civil status events concerning them that have occurred abroad, such as birth, marriage, divorce and death.<\/p>\n

To request the registration in Italy of a civil status record issued in Sri Lanka or the Republic of Maldives, an appointment at the Embassy must be booked through the Prenot@mi<\/a> portal.<\/p>\n

Civil status records to be registered must be submitted to the Embassy in original form and must already have been legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka or the Republic of Maldives. Please note that the original documents submitted will be forwarded to the competent Italian authorities and cannot be returned.<\/strong><\/p>\n
