of Value"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Embassy of Italy in Colombo may issue a Declaration of Value (<em>Dichiarazione di Valore<\/em>) for educational qualifications obtained in Sri Lanka and awarded by Sri Lankan schools or universities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In particular, a Declaration of Value may be issued for the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level (O\/L)<\/li>\n<li>General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level (A\/L)<\/li>\n<li>Degrees awarded by Sri Lankan state universities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The correct procedure for obtaining a Declaration of Value is outlined below.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Declaration of Value may only be requested after the documents relating to the educational qualification have been legalized.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The legalization procedure is described in the <strong>Translation and Legalization of Documents<\/strong> section of the Embassy\u2019s website, available at the following link <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcolombo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/traduzione-e-legalizzazione-dei-documenti\/\">Translation and Legalization of Documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>HOW TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR A DECLARATION OF VALUE TO THE EMBASSY<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once the legalization procedure for the original educational qualifications has been completed, the formal application for a Declaration of Value must be submitted in person by the applicant, or by a duly authorized representative, to the Consular Office of the Embassy of Italy in Colombo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For this purpose, an appointment must be booked through the portal <a href=\"https:\/\/prenotami.esteri.it\/\">https:\/\/prenotami.esteri.it\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once an appointment has been booked, the applicant (or their authorized representative) must attend the Consular Office with the completed Declaration of Value application form (available for download at the following link <a href=\"https:\/\/ambcolombo.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/DOV-modulo-di-richiesta.pdf\">Application for a Declaration of Value<\/a>), together with the original educational documents, which must already have been legalized (for the correct legalization procedure, please refer to point 1 above).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>FEES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The issuance of a Declaration of Value is subject to the payment of a consular fee equivalent to \u20ac41 in Sri Lankan rupees, calculated according to the applicable exchange rate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students who are already enrolled at an Italian university are exempt from this fee, provided that they submit appropriate documentation confirming their enrolment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>CIMEA ATTESTATION<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As an alternative to the Declaration of Value, applicants may request a statement concerning their educational qualifications from CIMEA (<em>Centro di Informazione sulla Mobilit\u00e0 e le Equivalenze Accademiche<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For the purposes of a study visa application, either a Declaration of Value or a CIMEA attestation may be accepted, depending on the requirements of the Italian university at which the applicant intends to enroll.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applicants are therefore advised to check the requirements of the relevant university in advance to determine which documentation must be submitted with their visa application:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">if the university requires a Declaration of Value, the applicant must complete the legalization procedure for their educational documents and submit the relevant application to the Embassy in accordance with the instructions provided on this page;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">if the university requires a CIMEA attestation, the applicant may proceed directly by attaching the CIMEA statement to their study visa application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:
