Capture1-1

From 10st to 13th October 2024, the Multipurpose Combat Ship Raimondo Montecuccoli, integrated in the Italian Carrier Strike Group with ITS Cavour and ITS Alpino, will pay a port call to Colombo, mooring at Colombo HarborPassenger Cruise Terminal.

The ship, entirely built in Italy and characterized by high operational flexibility, is designed with enhanced “dual use” features to perform both military tasks (including patrol, logistic transport and surface combat) and disaster relief activities in favor of civilians. The combination of new technologies and extensive use of modularity concept makes this unit an excellence of the engineering solutions Made in Italy.

The unit is engaged in an operational campaign around the globe, nearly 70 years after the historic cruiser Montecuccoli, at the time a Naval Academy School Ship for the 1956 and 1957 student campaign, sailed around the world
