On the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Embassy of Italy in Colombo pays tribute to the victims of the Shoah and honors the survivors, reaffirming the value of memory as a collective responsibility towards the future and as a foundation of human dignity, freedom, and democratic values.
In his message for 27 January, the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Antonio Tajani, recalled that “memory is not a formal ritual, but a collective responsibility towards the future,” stressing that remembering is not enough and that vigilance is required against an antisemitism that has not disappeared and today also spreads online. He further emphasized that the antidote to this hatred lies in memory, knowledge, and respect—values incompatible with any form of discrimination and denial of history.
Never again.
