Until 11 February 2025, violinists of all nationalities and between the ages of 15 and 30 will be able to enter the 58th International Violin Competition ‘Paganini Prize’. The final stages of the competition will be held in Genoa, the birthplace of the legendary violinist Niccolò Paganini, from 14 to 26 October 2025.
The deadline for submitting applications is 11 February 2025 at 13:00 Italian time. Applications must be made exclusively online, through the website www.premiopaganini.it.
The rules foresee a pre-selection phase, scheduled between April and May 2025, which will take place in Genoa, Guangzhou, Seoul, New York and Berlin. Only 24 violinists will access the finals of the Competition, scheduled for October 2025 in Genoa.
Among the prizes to be awarded, in addition to the extraordinary opportunity for the winner to play the ‘Cannone’ – Paganini’s famous violin built in 1743 by luthier Bartolomeo Giuseppe Guarneri, known as ‘del Gesù’ – there are a recording contract and a series of concerts at prestigious musical institutions, both in Italy and abroad.
