In honour of the memory of MNDF Sergeant First Class Mohamed Mahudhee, who lost his life during the recovery operations for the five fellow Italian nationals who went missing while diving in Vaavu Atoll in May 2026, the Embassy of Italy in Colombo, together with the Honorary Consular Agency in Malé, is launching a fundraising initiative to provide tangible support to his family.
This initiative seeks to foster a collective expression of solidarity and closeness to his loved ones, offering all those who wish to do so the opportunity to make a voluntary contribution according to their means.
Donations may be made by bank transfer to the account dedicated to this initiative, the details of which are provided below. The funds raised will be transferred to the deceased’s legal heirs in accordance with the arrangements established for this initiative.
