Access to the consular office
In order to improve the service, we are glad to announce that starting from 21/10/2022 a new online system for booking appointments for consular services is available at this link https://prenotami.esteri.it/. Access to consular offices is now therefore possible – except for the request of issuance of Emergency travel documents (ETD), which will remain on a walk-in basis – only by appointment. In case of emergency or urgency, for Italian citizens it is always possible to show up at the Embassy without appointment (Monday to Thursday 9.30-12.30 am).
Once logged in the system, it will be possible to select the category of service requested (passport renewal, civil status and registry, notary deeds, pensions) and the desired date and time. For all categories of services not explicitly mentioned in the drop-down menu (except for legalizations, which will continue to be handled by an outsourcing company), please select the item “all other consular services”.
Please pay special attention to the booked appointment category. In the event of an error during the booking process, it will be necessary to cancel the appointment and make a new booking. New online appointment slots will be opened on a weekly or monthly basis. If no appointment slots are available at a given time, we recommend that you wait a few days and then try again.
For all issues related to visas, please consult the dedicated website page.
IMPORTANT: Please note that for legalization services it is NOT possible to book an appointment at the Embassy, but must be followed the procedure described in “Translation and legalization” section.
