The 9th Italian Design Day in the World – Italian Design Day (IDD) was celebrated in Sri Lanka with the participation, as testimonial, of White Milano CEO Brenda Bellei Bizzi, who collaborated with Colombo Fashion Week (19-22 February), one of South Asia’s leading fashion festivals.
Made in Italy was represented at this important event by Cettina Bucca, a brand founded in 2010 as a tailor-made clothing atelier. The ‘Cettina Bucca’ brand, in line with the theme of the 9th Day (‘Inequalities. Design for a better life’) and Fashion Week, promoted the concept of ethical and sustainable fashion, in which each creation tells a story inspired by Sicilian tradition.
Brenda Bellei in Sri Lanka also chaired a master class at the College of Fashion and Design. Her talk, focused on Italian fashion and design, but with the theme of the Review, ‘Inequalities. Design for a Better Life’, offered an important opportunity to explore the role of design in mitigating inequalities and improving people’s well-being through sustainability as an engine of progress.
