The Consular Office, pursuant to section 28, paragraph one of Legislative Decree 71/2011, provides limited notarial services exclusively for Italian citizens.
If you need to sign a power of attorney, special or general, you must send to the e-mail address consolare.ambcolombo@esteri.it an editable draft of the same, prepared by an Italian notary, specifying all the data relating to the principal, the attorney and the subject of the power of attorney.
A Foreign National can execute a Power of Attorney in accordance with the rules and regulations of Sri Lanka or the Maldives through a Notary Public in the respective country. Once signed, the document must be legalized by following the procedure outlined in the ‘Translations and Legalizations’ section of this site.

For this purpose, the signature must be affixed in the presence of the official, and the person reproduced in the photo must be recognisable to the official.
